The Academic Mentoring Program for Education and Development (AMPED) is a school-based youth mentoring program designed to promote academic and behavioral wellness for middle-school students. Mentors in the AMPED program help adolescents by using a standardized approach guided by three objectives:

  1. Motivate students to pursue success in school and life.

  2. Equip students with skills that enable academic success.

  3. Support students as they create and pursue specific goals in school.

AMPED has sites in three cities: Houston,Texas; Columbia, South Carolina; and Charlottesville, Virginia.
